Lynn Sayre-Carstairs, D.M.D.

Dr. Lynn C. Sayre-Carstairs believes that if you have healthy gums, you are going to have a better life. With over 20 years of experience, she has seen the difference that her treatments make in the lives of her patients.

Dr. Sayre excels in the use of the dental laser in periodontal treatments. Having made the switch in technology many years ago, she would never go back to life before the laser. “The precision and accuracy the laser gives me” says Dr. Sayre-Carstairs, “allows for a painless visit and faster recovery time for my patients.”

The Coast Periodontics office in San Luis Obispo boasts a state-of-the-art dental laser. Dr. Sayre-Carstairs is the only periodontist within a 100 mile radius using a dental laser.

Dr. Sayre-Carstairs attended Wellesley College and graduated in 1982 with a BA degree in psychobiology. Tufts University in Boston, MA awarded Dr. Sayre-Carstairs a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 1986. She immediately moved to Los Angeles to enter the periodontal program at the University of Southern California.

After working as a periodontist in the Los Angeles area for 7 years, Dr. Sayre-Carstairs moved to San Luis Obispo to take over the two offices of Coast Periodontics, one in San Luis Obispo and the other in Paso Robles. Dr. Sayre-Carstairs prides herself on being on the leading edge of periodontal research – especially in the use of the next generation of periodontal treatment, lasers. Hence the name of her practice – COAST PERIODONTICS AND LASER SURGERY.

Dr. Sayre-Carstairs and her husband, a life-long Central Coast resident, enjoy their sons and grandchildren. As the family grows, so do the interesting interactions that make life so worth living!
